Sumer is delighted to be a participating gallery in the inaugural edition of TENT New Art Weekend, organised by Aotearoa Art Fair.
Titled after a bird that lays its eggs in other birds' nests, the exhibition is a joint presentation between Sumer and Laree Payne Gallery, Kirikiriroa Hamilton. The presentation was scheduled to take place in the Chairman's Suite at Park Hyatt Auckland; however current Covid restrictions have meant that this is regrettably not possible. Therefore, Sumer is now hosting the presentation at its gallery in Tauranga.
The show presents a diverse grouping of new and recent work by artists from both galleries. A selection of work that might be akin to a collector's approach: the connections subjective and responsive, where works can speak on their own merits. We have opted for a good dose of bold colour, humour and good energy-something we feel is certainly needed right now.
